Overview
Group websites have two roles: admins and artists. Understanding what each role can do helps you manage your group effectively and keep the right people in control.
What Artists Can Do
Members with the artist role can:
- Submit artwork to the group website (within the limits you set)
- Withdraw their submitted artwork
- Edit their own profile details (display name, tagline, bio, avatar)
- View their submission history and status
- Manage their own artist-owned collections
Artists cannot change website-wide settings, manage other members, or modify the website's design.
What Admins Can Do
Admins have full control over the group website:
- Everything artists can do, plus:
- Invite and remove members
- Edit any artist's profile
- Review, accept, and reject submissions
- Create and manage website-owned collections
- Change the website's Design
- Configure sharing rules and website settings
- Manage billing and tier upgrades
Managing User Access to Artist Profiles
A single artist profile can have multiple user accounts attached to it. This is useful when an artist has an assistant, or when an admin needs to manage submissions on behalf of an artist.
To manage which users have access to a profile:
- Go to Artists and open the artist's profile.
- Find the Users section.
- Add or remove user accounts as needed.
Designating a Primary User
Each artist profile has one primary user. The primary user:
- Receives all notifications for that profile
- Is the default contact for submission updates
- Cannot be removed without designating a new primary user first
To change the primary user, open the artist's profile, find the Users section, and click Make Primary next to the desired account.
Removing a Member from the Group
Removing a member is a significant action. When you remove a member:
- Their profile is hidden from the public website
- Their submitted artwork is withdrawn from all collections
- Their data is preserved (not deleted) in case they rejoin later
To remove a member:
- Go to Artists and open the artist's profile.
- Click Remove from Group.
- Confirm the action.
If you want to temporarily hide a member without removing them, consider deactivating their profile instead. See Managing Artist Profiles for details.
