Overview

Each member of your group website has an artist profile that appears on the website. As an admin, you can view and edit these profiles to keep information accurate and presentation consistent.

Viewing the Artist List

Go to Artists in the admin dashboard to see all members. The list shows each artist's display name, status (active or deactivated), and the number of artworks they have submitted.

Editing Artist Details

To edit a member's profile:

1. Go to Artists and click on the artist's name.
2. Update any of the following fields:
   • Display Name: The name shown on the website
   • Tagline: A short description (e.g., "Painter and printmaker based in Toronto")
   • Bio: A longer description of the artist and their work
3. Click Save Changes.

Changes take effect on the website immediately.

Uploading or Changing Avatars

Each artist can have an avatar image that appears on their profile and in member listings.

1. Open the artist's profile from Artists.
2. Click on the avatar area.
3. Upload a new image or choose from existing uploads.
4. Click Save Changes.

Square images work best. The system crops and resizes automatically.

Managing Artist Custom URLs

The custom URL is the part of the web address that identifies the artist (e.g., /artists/jane-doe). It's set automatically from the display name, but you can customise it:

1. Open the artist's profile.
2. Find the Custom URL field.
3. Enter the desired address (lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only).
4. Click Save Changes.

Changing a custom URL updates all links to that artist on your website.

Activating and Deactivating Artists

Deactivating an artist hides their profile and artwork from the public website without removing their data. This is useful if an artist takes a break or leaves the group temporarily.

1. Open the artist's profile from Artists.
2. Click Deactivate Artist.
3. Confirm the action.

To bring them back, open their profile and click Activate Artist. All their artwork and submissions are restored to their previous state. Deactivated artists do not count towards your tier limit.
