Mobile Editing Tips

Overview

ArtSites is designed to be fully editable from your phone or tablet. The mobile editor uses panels that slide up from the bottom of the screen, making it easy to edit with touch controls.

Mobile Editor Interface

  • Bottom sheet panels: Editing controls appear as panels sliding up from the bottom, within easy thumb reach
  • Tap targets: Editable areas have larger tap targets on mobile for easier selection
  • Up/down arrows: Reorder sections using arrow buttons instead of drag-and-drop
  • Camera access: Upload images directly from your device camera

What Works Well on Mobile

  • Uploading images directly from your camera
  • Quick text edits and typo fixes
  • Changing page and artwork status (draft/published)
  • Reordering sections and artwork
  • Reviewing your website's mobile appearance

Mobile-Specific Features

Camera Upload

When adding images, you can choose "Take Photo" to open your device camera and capture images directly. This is great for documenting artwork in your studio.

Touch-Safe Controls

All controls on mobile are designed for finger-tap accuracy: no tiny buttons or precise cursor positioning required.

Responsive Preview

When editing on mobile, you see your website exactly as mobile visitors will. This makes it easy to check layout and readability.

What Works Better on Desktop

Some tasks are more comfortable on a larger screen:

  • Writing long text content (artist statements, blog posts)
  • Fine-tuning design settings across many options
  • Managing large collections with many artworks
  • Working with multiple browser tabs (editing in one, previewing in another)

Tips

  • Use mobile editing for quick updates and uploads, desktop for longer editing sessions
  • Take advantage of camera upload for real-time documentation of new work
  • The mobile editor has the same auto-draft safety as desktop: nothing is lost if you switch apps or lose connection
  • Rotate your phone to landscape for a wider editing view if needed
