Overview
Website settings control the foundational details of your group website, from its name and timezone to SEO and domain configuration.
Website Name, Timezone, and Locale
These basic settings establish your website's identity:
- Website Name: Appears in the header, browser tab, and search results.
- Timezone: Used for displaying dates on blog posts, events, and submission timestamps.
- Locale: Sets the language and regional formatting for your website.
Find these under Settings in the admin dashboard.
SEO Settings
Search engine optimisation settings help your website appear in search results:
- Meta Description: A short summary of your group website (up to 160 characters). This appears in search engine results below your website name.
- Keywords: Relevant terms that describe your group and the artwork you showcase.
- Social Sharing Image: The image that appears when your website is shared on social media. Choose a strong, representative image.
Go to Settings then SEO to configure these.
Domain Settings
Group websites can use a custom domain (e.g., www.yourgallery.ca) instead of the default ArtSites URL. The setup process is the same as for Pro websites:
- Go to Settings then Domain.
- Enter your custom domain.
- Follow the DNS configuration instructions provided.
- Wait for verification to complete.
See the domain setup article for detailed instructions.
Gallery Display Mode
Control how your collections are presented on the gallery index page:
- Layout variant: Choose from available gallery layouts (grid, masonry, etc.).
- Display mode: Configure how artwork thumbnails appear within collections.
Find these under Settings then Gallery.
