Overview
Your group website's design shapes how visitors experience your members' artwork. Group websites use the same design tools as Pro websites, so you have the full range available: starter designs, the Studio, and backups.
A design is your website's complete look: its layout (header, menu, sidebar, footer), colours, and fonts, all in one place. One design is live at a time.
Starting from a starter
- Go to Designs in the admin dashboard.
- Click + Start a new design.
- Browse the starters. Each shows a full preview with your website's name.
- Click Start from this to adopt one.
Your new design opens in the Studio. It goes live only when you click Use this design, so your current website stays put until you're ready.
Customising in the Studio
Click Edit on a design to open the Studio. Four tabs cover everything, with a live preview alongside:
- Layout: header style, menu placement and style, sidebar, and footer (including footer columns).
- Colours: your palette and which colours each part of the website uses.
- Typography: fonts for each kind of text.
- Feel: spacing, corner roundness, shadows, and content width.
Click Save to apply. Changes to the live design go live on save, so Back up first when you're about to experiment.
Backups and copies
- Back up makes a dated, frozen restore point, kept under the design.
- Restore brings a backup's look back (your current look is backed up first, so nothing is lost).
- Save as new copies a design so you can try ideas without touching the live one.
Website-wide design
All design choices apply to every page and every member profile on the website. There are no per-artist or per-page design overrides on a group website. This keeps presentation consistent and professional across all your members' work.
If individual artists want distinct design choices, they can maintain their own Pro website alongside their group membership.
