Overview

Your artwork grids take their layout from your site's Design. That covers collection pages, your gallery, and your portfolio. There's no separate layout switch on a collection itself.

The two grid styles

• Bounding box: every image sits in a uniform-shaped cell, letterboxed so nothing is cropped. Best for a clean, consistent look.
• Masonry: images keep their natural proportions and flow into columns of varying height. Best for artwork with a mix of orientations (landscape and portrait).

Which style your grids use is decided by your Design, not by anything you set per collection.

Changing your grid style

If you manage your own Design, open Designs in your site admin and choose a Design, or a starter design, that uses the grid style you want. That choice applies to every gallery and collection across your site at once. You don't set it collection by collection.

If your site is part of a group or hosted under someone else's site, the grid style comes from that site's Design, and it isn't something you can change from your own account.

What you can still choose yourself

Artwork caption detail is a setting on your own site: it controls how much information shows under each thumbnail. You'll find it under Site Settings → Content.

Tips

• Changing your Design's grid style never touches your artwork or how it's ordered.
• Masonry works best when your images have a mix of aspect ratios; bounding box works best when you want every thumbnail the same shape.
