Overview
High-quality images are the foundation of a great portfolio. ArtSites handles image processing automatically, generating optimized versions for different screen sizes while preserving your original files at full resolution.
How To Upload
- Go to Artwork in your dashboard
- Click Add Artwork to open the upload form
- Drag and drop your image file, or click to browse your device
- Fill in the artwork details: title, medium, dimensions, and year
- Click Save to add the artwork to your portfolio
Supported Formats
- JPEG: Best for photographs and painterly work
- PNG: Best for graphics with sharp edges or transparency
- WebP: Modern format with excellent compression
Image Guidelines
- Minimum recommended resolution: 2000px on the longest side
- Maximum file size: 50 MB per image
- Use consistent lighting and a neutral background when photographing physical work
- Crop tightly to the artwork: remove excessive matting or wall space
What Happens After Upload
ArtSites automatically generates optimized versions of your image:
- Thumbnail: Small version for gallery grids and menus
- Medium: Mid-size version for standard viewing
- Large: High-resolution version for detail viewing
Your original file is preserved at full resolution.
Tips
- You can upload multiple images per artwork to show detail views
- On mobile, you can upload directly from your camera
- If an upload fails, check your file size and internet connection, then try again
