Overview
Each artwork on ArtSites can have multiple images attached to it. This is useful for showing detail shots, alternate angles, installation views, or process photos alongside the primary image.
Image Roles
Each image attached to an artwork has a role:
- Primary: The main image shown in gallery grids and as the artwork's cover
- Detail: Additional views shown on the artwork's detail page
- Thumbnail: An optional custom thumbnail that overrides the auto-generated one
How To Add Multiple Images
- Open the artwork from your Artwork dashboard
- Scroll to the images section
- Click Add Image to upload additional views
- Drag images to reorder them
- Click on an image to set its role (primary, detail, or thumbnail)
- Click Save to apply changes
Tips
- The primary image is the most important. It represents the artwork everywhere on your website
- Detail shots of texture, brushwork, or close-up areas help collectors appreciate your technique
- For sculptures or 3D work, include multiple angles
- Keep the number of images manageable: 3-5 images per artwork is usually ideal
- If you don't set a custom thumbnail, ArtSites generates one automatically from the primary image
