Artwork Availability and Pricing

Overview

ArtSites lets you indicate whether artwork is available for sale, sold, or not for sale. This helps visitors and collectors understand which works they can enquire about.

Availability Options

Each artwork can be set to one of these availability states:

  • Available: The work is for sale. A selling price can optionally be shown.
  • Sold: The work has been sold. A "Sold" label appears on the artwork.
  • Not for sale: The work is not available for purchase. No price or status label is shown, or a "Not for sale" label appears depending on your display settings.

Adding a Price

  1. Go to Artwork in your dashboard
  2. Click the artwork you want to update
  3. Find the Pricing section
  4. Enter the price and select your currency
  5. Set the availability to Available
  6. Click Save

The price is shown on the artwork's detail page. It does not appear in gallery grids unless your Design includes that display option.

Marking a Work as Sold

  1. Open the artwork from your Artwork dashboard
  2. Find the Pricing section
  3. Change the availability to Sold
  4. Click Save

A "Sold" indicator appears on the artwork. The work remains visible in your collections: sold work is part of your record and helps build credibility with collectors.

Hiding Pricing

If you prefer not to show prices publicly, you can leave the price field blank. Visitors can still enquire about availability through your contact page or messaging widget.

Tips

  • Keeping sold work visible is standard practice in the gallery world: it shows your work sells and gives your portfolio depth.
  • If you'd rather remove a sold work from public view, set it to Hidden in the visibility settings.
  • Review your availability settings after each sale to keep your website current.
  • You don't need to show prices to benefit from the availability status: "Sold" or "Not for sale" labels are still useful without a price.
