Overview

ArtSites offers two account levels. Everyone starts with a free Basic account, an artist profile and portfolio, and can move up to Pro for a website of their own.

Neither level limits how much work you can make. On both, you can add, edit, and keep your whole body of work. What differs is where it lives and how much of it is shown.

Basic Account (Free)

A Basic account gives you a curated public presence:

• An artist profile: Portfolio, About, and Contact
• 20 works shown: Your profile shows 20 of your works, and you choose which
• All your work kept: Add, edit, and organise as much as you like; only the number shown is set
• Your work in one place: The works you show appear together, rather than grouped into collections
• A polished look: Chosen for you, so there is nothing to set up
• Your own Custom URL: sites.art/your-name
• A place in the artist directory: When you want one

Pro Account

Pro is a website of your own:

• Your own address: A subdomain, or a domain name you bring or register with us
• Your own Design: Colours, typography, layout, and a choice of starter designs
• Your own pages: Content pages, a blog, events, and more
• Newsletters: Write to the people who follow your work
• Every work you make, shown: Your website has no set number, because it's yours
• Collections: Group your work by series, medium, year, or however you work, as many as you like
• Menus and layout: Headers, footers, sidebars, and menus arranged how you like
• Messaging: Let visitors contact you directly through your website

Moving between the two changes whether you have a website. It does not change your artist profile, your Custom URL, your directory entry, or how much of your work is shown there. Those are the same on both.

Collections belong to the website, so they come with Pro. If you move back to Basic, every collection you made is kept exactly as you left it, in the same order, and comes back the way it was when you move up again. Nothing is merged, reordered, or thrown away.

Group Website

Group websites are shared by multiple artists and managed by an administrator who curates the content.

• An administrator creates and manages the group website
• Artists are invited as members and can submit artwork for inclusion
• Each member retains their own artist profile
• Features are similar to a Pro account, with added collaboration tools for managing members, reviewing submissions, and curating shared collections

Group websites are a great option for artist collectives, studio co-ops, and gallery programmes that want a unified online presence.

Account Progression

Your account unlocks features as you build your profile:

Milestones are granted automatically when you meet the requirements. Once your email is verified, you can choose your own Custom URL any time from your settings. There's nothing to request and no waiting on us.

Tips

• Start with Basic and stay as long as you like; it's a real account, not a trial
• Add your whole body of work from the start; nothing you make is ever capped by your plan
• Moving up to Pro keeps everything you already have and adds a website beside it
• Verify your email first; it makes your profile visible to visitors
• The artist directory listing gives your work additional visibility once you have 5+ artworks
